My God. I found this through online searches, wondering how he was doing. I got to know Allan online about 5-8 years ago, meeting him through a game called Urban Assault, and chatting late into many nights. He was a leader in the fan community for several years, full of playfulness and wit.

I wrote a brief memory in honor of him on the current Urban Assault online forum.

Jessica, I hope you see this. I remember he really appreciated you. Thank you. Take care.

I know this is late, but I wanted to thank you for writing this. I am glad we got a chance to meet you, and that Allan's life continues to touch so many others.

His life was one of suffering: an unfortuante allotment to him by his genes. His death, while a sad event, is actually a reprieve for one living in constant pain.

May Mr. Glenn rest in peace.

I've always been a fan of an "Irish wake" manner of dealing with deaths. Instead of simply mourning their deaths, we should also focus our energies on rejoicing that they lived at all. The world was a better place for having him in it, and we should do what we can to ensure that others like him will be able to stay longer.

I'm on the tight budget of the typical university student, so I unfortunately can't afford much in the way of donations. Instead, I've decided to focus my energies on fighting back against those who try to ban stem cell research (which could potentially be very helpful in creating organs for transplant). Will my voice make a difference? I don't know, but it's still worth the fight.

*nods* I think I will contribute something. x.x *sighs, scritches Joey's head, exceptionally glad for once that she's only mildly autistic* it's unfortunate I didn't get the chance to meet him; he sounds like a wonderful person, and I'm otherwise rather poor at this sort of thing so I'll shut up sooner rather than later.

Thanks, Ebonmuse, for your wonderful tribute to our friend Allan. I'll always remember that day in New York, when we all met and hung out, and I made him eat a burrito. He couldn't finish it, but he tried so hard. Just as with life, perhaps...

A postscript: For readers who wish to help contribute to the fight against cystic fibrosis, I suggest the Boomer Esiason Foundation. I'm told that this is a charity which helps individual sufferers as well as promoting medical research, which is something that was important to Allan. I'll be making a donation to them this holiday season in his memory, and I encourage others to do likewise.
