Survey time: Has the slowness problem of the past two weeks gone away or are you still experiencing it?
After some back-and-forth, my hosting company claims to have fixed the problem, and it does seem substantially better on my end. Have you all noticed the same?

Since your original post on this topic, I have had mixed results. My hunch is that it is better, but not as good as it was in the past.
It is much slower than ever before, at least today. I have not noticed any slowness before your first post about it. Paradoxically it started to deteriorate afterwards, and today the site is loading several minutes. I am connecting from Europe.
For me, it has loaded faster at times, and just as slow at other times, rather than just being slow all the time. I will have to pay closer attention to see if the slowness happens at specific times of the day, but something has definitely changed since last week.
Took maybe a bit less than 10 seconds to go from Planet Atheism to this page--a definite improvement, but still not good.
It's still slow for me, though not as slow as it has been (intermittently) in the past. The main part of the page loads relatively quickly (~5 secs), but the sidebar takes at least as long again to fully load.
I tested various topic links since reading this post, and the response time today is significantly faster than it has been since the initial "slowness" post.
I wasn't having any trouble with the site last week. Today, however, I am finding the site very slow in loading. But I don't know whether that's on your end or mine.

It took about 30 seconds to load the site, which is not good, but only about 5 seconds to load this page of comments, which is an improvement.
The posting of my preceding comment took 1 minute 45 seconds (timed with stopwatch), after which I got this error message:
Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you've already said that!
It took ~40 seconds of latency to simply make contact with the webserver, and at least another 40 to finish loading the entire page. This is from a very fast university connection.
After having originally posted that I had no problems, I did then have a couple of very slow days. Not too bad at present, but not as fast as it has been - 15 seconds to load this page via broadband. Posting from the Netherlands.
It's still taking about 60s to load from my school (which is an issue in itself), and is noticeably slower compared to other sites.
There's been a slight improvement the last two times I've been on. Your Ebon Musings page has always flashed right up. Going from there to Daylight Atheism is quite a bit slower, and opening a thread is slower yet. Still, I think things might be better.
Just connected, it took almost a minute to bring up the main page and a further minute to get to the point where I can comment.
Forgive me for being so crass, but I clicked on the thread, left my computer to have a bowel movement, and when I came back the page still hadn't completely loaded.
Take that for what it's worth, Ebon.

Not able to make suggestion. Just feedback that loading main page was slow, waited 2 min to access comments and when "done" appeared at the bottom had arrived at a blank page. Using back button an retrying, got to comments page rather quickly.
This page didn't even load the first time I tried. Guess Firefox decided it was taking too long and it gave up (although it didn't give me an error message like it normally does).
And, like prase, I didn't notice any slowness until after your initial post. But, for a week now it's taken at least 20-30 seconds to load the site.
