Shelley doesn&#039;t even need to state his point; there is the hubristic inscription--&quot;Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!&quot;--and immediately the abrupt observance that &quot;Nothing beside remains,&quot; moving into the clear image of the barren sands surrounding, leaving no doubt what the poet was driving at.

What a shame that Shelley did so young.</description>
