It’s that time again: the time of the year where we come together to support the Secular Student Alliance, one of the most important groups helping to foster community among young atheists and to energize, connect and train the next generation of secular activists. The SSA helps organize, represent and defend clubs for atheist and agnostic students on campuses across the country (plus I hear they sponsor some pretty cool speakers), and now has almost 50 high school affiliates and almost 400 affiliate groups total. They’ve been growing like gangbusters these past few years, but it takes money and resources to build the infrastructure that makes further growth possible. That’s where you all come in!
In 2013, SSA Week is running from April 29 through May 6. As in past years, all donations up to $250,000 are being doubled thanks to a matching grant, so any support you can spare will be multiplied for an even bigger impact. Also as in past years, a whole bunch of secular bloggers are participating to help out the cause: some with 12-hour or 24-hour blogathons, some with web comics, some with live streams or video chat, some with surprises of their own.
Last year, I highlighted some of the best posts on each day the blogathon. This year, I’m going to do something different: I’m turning Daylight Atheism into a Reddit-style Ask Me Anything.
Here’s how it’s going to work: If you donate $5 or more through my personal page, I’ll answer any question you want to ask – just post a comment here or send me an e-mail. (You can still ask a question even if you’d rather keep your donation anonymous; we can do this on the honor system. I reserve the right to decline anything excessively personal, but I’m sure that won’t be necessary.) And for $20 or more, I’ll write a post on a topic of your choice! If there’s something you think I should address that I never have, now’s your chance to see what I’ve got to say about it. Again, you can donate through my personal fundraising page, here:

Thanks for your support! Now, go out there and do some good.
