Deep below the earth, there was a cramped, dark chamber.
Its walls were bare concrete, stained by the filth and graffiti of years. Its door was cold steel. The only light was a small, buzzing fluorescent whose dull glow seemed to evaporate into the air, leaving most of the cell in darkness.
