The Owl lifted off from Westchester under a midnight sky streaked with icy lanes of frost. The lights of the campus played on the underside of the plane, but as it rose into the dark, it vanished from view.
In the cabin, a small team of people kept watch, their faces illuminated by the glow of the instrument panel. Their expressions were tense with the shared knowledge of what lay ahead.
